Bridge Closure Alert (14 Day Notice) – December 21, 2022
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that overnight bridge closures over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge) will occur nightly in January.
BRIDGE CLOSURE INFO
There will be a complete bridge closures to vehicular traffic over the Connecticut River (Route 82) every night beginning on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, and continuing until Friday, January 20, 2023. The bridge will close each night at 7:00pm and reopen the following morning at 6:00am.
DETOUR INFO
Motorist alternative options to cross the Connecticut River during these overnight bridge closures will be as follows:
- Traveling to/from the South – Use the signed detour utilizing the Baldwin Bridge (I-95 Old Saybrook).
- Traveling to/from the North – utilize the Arrigoni Bridge (Middletown-Portland).
