The Connecticut Department of Transportation is issuing the follow traffic advisory for Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge).
Bridge Testing:
Swing testing will occur randomly this week on Monday (12/23), Tuesday (12/24), Thursday (12/26) and Friday (12/27) between 9am-3pm each day, delays should be anticipated during these test runs.
Bridge Closure:
No overnight bridge closures will occur the week of 12/22/24. (Overnight bridge closures will resume on 1/6/25)

- Effective November 11, 2022, any trucks that exceed 16 tons are restricted from using the East Haddam Swing Bridge, until further notice. Routine enforcement by the Connecticut State Police and Department of Motor Vehicles will occur during this 16-ton restriction period.
- Project traffic WEBCAMS (one on each side of the river) are available 24/7 to monitor the traffic conditions at the bridge, the camera feeds are viewable from our project website homepage.
- Unforeseen circumstances have the potential to impact all scheduled construction activities.
