Overnight Bridge Closures – SCHEDULE UPDATE – March 7, 2023
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that overnight road closures of Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge) have the potential to occur weeknights from March 20, 2023, to March 31, 2023.
BRIDGE CLOSURE INFO
From March 20, 2023, through March 31, 2023, Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge) will be subject to potential overnight road closures Monday through Friday.
The road closures will begin at 7:00pm and end no later than 6:00am the following morning.
Be advised that Saturday and Sunday night closures may also occur if weeknights are lost.
Updates will be provided on actual closures/cancellations in a timely manner.
DETOUR INFO
Motorist alternative options to cross the Connecticut River during these overnight bridge closures will be as follows:
- Traveling to/from the South – Use the signed detour utilizing the Baldwin Bridge (I-95 Old Saybrook).
- Traveling to/from the North – utilize the Arrigoni Bridge (Middletown-Portland).
